This is a reminder of the Bristol Inter-Faith Group meeting on Tuesday 26 February at 7.30 p.m. at the Unitarian Meeting House, Brunswick Square, BS2 8PE.  Refreshments will be available from 7.00 p.m.

The theme for the evening is 'Religion and the arts' and contributions will include a presentation by Judy Holyer who has made a special study of icons.

in the Reception Room, Wills Memorial Building, Queens Road, Bristol BS8 1RJ

The Lecturer will be Dr Stuart Parkinson, Executive Director of ‘Scientists for Global Responsibility’

He will examine how society uses and misuses science and technology and go on to highlight ways in which we can reshape our relationship with these powerful forces to help bring about a more secure and sustainable society.

All welcome.   Free admission.

Lord Mayor's Annual MultiFaith Celebration

Wednesday 27th March in the Lord Mayor's Chapel, College Green, Bristol BS1 5TB

Arrivals from 7.00 p.m. for 7.30 start

The present Lord Mayor is Cllr Cleo Lake and she has chosen the theme 'Conflict Resolution' for the event.

Please consider whether your faith community could make a contribution to the programme.  I think the theme could be interpreted quite widely to include work such as:

- mediation in neighbourhood disputes;

- restorative justice to help deal with criminals and their victims;

- anger management training for those responsible for hate crime;

- overseas activities to resolve conflict caused by tribal, ethnic or religious differences;

- overseas work to tackle disputes arising from shortages of water, land or other resources.

We are looking for about five varied contributions so each could have a slot of 10 to 15 minutes.  If you would like a contribution from your faith community to be considered please respond to me by Wednesday 13th March indicating what is planned and whether you would require use of a projector and audio equipment.
