Future Meetings

The next meeting of BIFG will be at 7.15 p.m. on Wednesday 5th July at the Bristol Hindu Temple, 163 Church Road, Bristol BS5 9LA.
We shall observe the evening ceremony of Aarti and then be led in discussion about how the Hindu faith
influences life-style.
There are, of course, many different ways in which Hindu families practise their faith but in so far
as it is possible to identify a typical Hindu family, Panditji and/or other Hindus will tackle questions √ such as:
What food is eaten?
What drinks are consumed?
What dress is worn?
What criteria would determine choice of employment? What are typical leisure-time activities? Would there be a shrine in the home and what prayer practice is followed? What language(s) would be spoken at home? What would be the attitude to consumption of non-renewable resources, the choice of school for children and the choice of firms for investment?

Do come if you can and ask your questions.

We are holding our AGM on Thursday 7th September at 7.30 p.m. at the Central Quaker Meeting House,
Champion Square, Bristol BS2 9DB. Champion Square is behind the Cabot Circus Hotel and the multi-storey car-park.
Access on foot or cycle is from Temple Way, River Street or Matthias Park.
Please let us know if you are willing to take on any of the responsibilities for running BIFG or could serve as a committee member.
There will be short reports on our recent activities and finances.

The main purpose of the meeting is to hold a discussion on the possibility of BIFG merging with the Bristol Multi-Faith Forum to form a single organisation in the City concerned with inter-faith matters. There are arguments for and against this proposal and some of these will be circulated before the AGM. At this stage, please book the date and time and come to join in this important discussion about our future.
