Future Meetings

Autumn Programme
We have already fixed the AGM and discussion of possible merger with BMFF for 7th September
at Central Quaker Meeting House, Champion Square.

Raja Ram Mohan Roy
We agreed to plan a meeting to learn more about this great scholar and human rights activist
who died on Bristol on 27 September 1833. Duncan and James said they would find out when local
Hindus were going to commemorate Roy at Arnos Vale Cemetery and when the date was known,
Graham agreed to invite Carla Contractor to speak at a public meeting.

We noted that BMFF has meetings planned for 19 September and 21 November.
Mark Behard told us of a major exhibition, 'Journey to Justice', which is to be held at
Bristol Cathedral during October and has public meetings linked to it dealing with the role
of faith communities in promoting human rights.
In view of this we felt it would be inappropriate to try to organise any further
BIFG meeting in October but that we would publicise and support what was already taking place.

Date of Next Committee Meeting
Wednesday 20 September at 10.30 at the Baha'i Centre, 8 Church Road, Lawrence Hill.

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

We are holding our AGM on Thursday 7th September at 7.30 p.m. at the Central Quaker Meeting House,
Champion Square, Bristol BS2 9DB. Champion Square is behind the Cabot Circus Hotel and the multi-storey car-park.
Access on foot or cycle is from Temple Way, River Street or Matthias Park.
Please let us know if you are willing to take on any of the responsibilities for running BIFG or could serve as a committee member.
There will be short reports on our recent activities and finances.

The main purpose of the meeting is to hold a discussion on the possibility of BIFG merging with the Bristol Multi-Faith Forum to form a single organisation in the City concerned with inter-faith matters. There are arguments for and against this proposal and some of these will be circulated before the AGM. At this stage, please book the date and time and come to join in this important discussion about our future.
